3D PRINTING POLICY
I. Guidelines for Use
· A Knoxville Public Library card in good standing is required, as a well as a signed 3D Printing User Agreement.
· Patrons are not allowed to operate the 3D printer.
· Patrons can submit a file using the library’s 3D Printer request form on the Knoxville Public Library website.
· Library staff will contact the patron submitting the print to verify specifics and estimates on pricing. 3D printing can take up to seven days to be completed depending on staff time and other projects. Patrons will receive a call when their print is ready.
· Patrons are responsible for paying for their printed files that are sent to the Knoxville Public Library.
· Patrons are responsible for finding their own files for their desired print and design.
· Patrons are responsible for paying for all prints (both successful or possibly unsuccessful) for files they submit.
· Walk-in appointments are subject to availability. Walk-in print requests must still be approved by library staff. Walk-in prints must be completed before closing.
II. Printing Requests and Payment
· Library staff will review all 3D print requests when they receive it. All requests must follow the library’s 3D printing guidelines. No weapons or inappropriate prints are allowed.
· Patrons must pay for their 3D prints when they pick it up. Patrons cannot pick up their print then pay later. If an item is left unclaimed for two weeks it becomes property of the library and the patron still accrues a fee of the price of the item.
· Patrons are allowed to utilize the 3D printer up to eight hours per week on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prints must not take longer than 8 hours to complete and must be finished before closing.
Maximum dimensions for the printer’s build plate can’t exceed:
250 x 250 x 260 mm (9.8 x 9.8 x 10.2 in)

PLA (Polylactic Acid) & PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) filament only
No TPU or ABS
